Government identifies 10 technology areas to focus on, including optics, biotechnology and energy
The Universities of the Netherlands (UNL) group has welcomed a Dutch national strategy for technology that will set the course for innovation policy in the coming years.
The National Technology Strategy (NTS) was released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate this month, setting out an agenda for research and innovation in areas crucial to the strategic autonomy of the Netherlands and Europe, including quantum technology, optics, biotechnology and energy. Autonomy has shot up the EU agenda in the wake of disruptions from the pandemic, wars and tension with China.
