Brewster Academy (N.H.) junior Dwayne Aristode has been on the Duke basketball radar for months. Even so, the 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward, a five-star prospect from the Netherlands who moved to the United States last summer and now ranks No. 19 on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, still hasn’t reported an offer from the Blue Devils.
But he’s consistently listed Jon Scheyer’s staff among those who reach out to him often.
And at the Bob McKillop Invitational in New York over the weekend, Aristode told League Ready that Duke is in the running to host him soon, presumably for an unofficial visit. Given the timeframe he mentioned, it may coincide with the Blue Devils’ March 9 home game against archrival UNC.
“January, when I came back from home, I went to Arizona,” Aristode recounted about his Wildcat suitors. “In three weeks, I’m planning on probably visiting Duke or UConn. Yeah, Duke or UConn.
“Virginia is texting me. Wake Forest is texting me. Xavier is texting me. Duke is texting me. UConn is texting me…”
Dwayne Aristode’s attraction in the eyes of big-name college coaches seems to center on his length, versatility, and, as he noted to League Ready, his impossible-to-miss relentlessness on the floor.
“They like that I play with a lot of energy, a lot of energy,” he said. “And I’m a two-way player. I’m a good offensive guy, but I also like to play defense. I take pride in that…I’m a high-volume shooter, too. So, they like that, too, for sure.”
As things stand, the 2025 Duke basketball offer sheet consists of eight composite five-star talents, including the twin sons of 2001 Blue Devil national champ Carlos Boozer in forward Cameron Boozer and guard Cayden Boozer. Scheyer and his crew have yet to receive either a commitment or rejection in the cycle.
