Motorists traveling on the A10 ring road around Amsterdam and the A2 near Utrecht will face delays for the next few weeks as the infrastructure ministry’s roads department starts work on both motorways.
The A10 between Amsterdam-Oost and Durgerdam and Watergraafsmeer was closed to traffic on Tuesday evening and the work is expected to last until September 9. The A8 slip road to the A10 will also be closed as part of the project.
Work on the A2 in Utrecht in the direction of Den Bosch will start at 9 pm on Thursday. The stretch of motorway between Oudenrijn and Everdingen will be closed between Thursday evening and Monday morning for the next five weeks, and fewer lanes will be available, the agency has said.
The work includes placing new tarmac and will take until September 23. Traffic will be diverted via the A12 and A27 but delays of up to an hour will be inevitable, the agency said.
