According to Fabrizio Romano, Burnley have reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven over the free transfer of Shurandy Sambo. The 22-year-old right-back will put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Turf Moor, ahead of a move that will take place this summer.
Shurandy Sambo has spent his career rising through the ranks in PSV’s youth academy, before making his senior debut during the 20/21 campaign. The Netherlands U21 international spent last season on loan at Sparta Rotterdam, where he featured 36 times as Sparta finished sixth in the Eredivisie. His pace and ability to get up the pitch to help in attack have caught the attention of several sides, but Burnley have won the race for the talented defender.
Sambo is set to leave PSV this summer ahead of a free transfer to Vincent Kompany’s side. It could prove to be an excellent bit of business from the relegation threatened Premier League club, as Sambo has shown that he’s full of potential. Having made just nine appearances for PSV this season, Shurandy Sambo will make the move to England.
