As reported by VP, Dutch TV analyst and former Brighton player Hans Kraay Jr believes that PSV midfielder Jerdy Schouten is ‘three times better than (Declan) Rice’. The former player and head coach said that he believes that, following his performances in the Eredivisie and the Euros, PSV could get in the region of €40-50m for the midfielder. Kraay Jr thinks that Schouten should move to the Premier League in the near future.
The 27-year-old midfielder only returned to Dutch football in the summer of 2023, with PSV spending around €15m to bring him to the Eredivisie from Bologna. The midfielder came through the youth system with Ado Den Haag before spells with Telstar and Excelsior. Schouten played 40 games for PSV this season, scoring four goals. During his time in Italy with Bologna the midfielder made 109 appearances, scoring twice and grabbing six assists.
Schouten is under contract with PSV until 2028.
